DIY-Factors of Abnormality and Disturbance

This is a do it yourself version of my work “Factors of Abnormality and Disturbance” which is a series based on the idea of recursive errors generating a novel product.

One of the methods used to achieve this goal is recursive translation. This method involves automatic translation programs. Any text may be used to initiate a process, this text must be translated to a different language again and again. So one might start with the text you're reading now and translate it in German, then take that translation and translate it to French and so on. The process may be repeated until all the languages in the translation software have been used and then the resulting text maybe translated back to the original language to see how the process has generated a totally different content.

The procedure:

1. Choose a text.
2. Choose a translation software.
3. Translate the text to an available language.
4. Repeat step 3 using the newly translated text
5. When all available languages are used (or when you get bored), translate the text to its original language.
6. Paste it as a comment to this blog.
7. (optional) Have it read by a text-to-speech software.

   Questa è una versione fai-da-te del mio lavoro “Factors of Abnormality and Disturbance” una serie basata sull'idea che la produzione ricorsiva di errori genera un prodotto nuovo.
   Uno dei metodi usati è quello della traduzione ricorsiva. Questo metodo fa uso software di traduzione automatica. Qualsiasi testo può essere usato per iniziare il processo, occorre tradurre il testo in un'altra lingua e poi ritradurre il testo già tradotto in una nuova lingua e così via. Così si potrebbe partire dal testo che state leggendo ora e tradurlo in tedesco, prendere il risultante testo tedesco e tradurlo in francese, poi ripetere l'operazione per altre lingue. Il processo può essere ripetuto finché tutte le lingue del software di traduzione siano state utilizzate, infine il testo può essere ritradotto nella lingua iniziale per vedere come si sia generato un testo completamente nuovo.
   
   
   La procedura:
   
8. Scegli un testo.
9. Scegli un software di traduzione.
10. Traduci il testo in una lingua disponibile.
11. Ripeti il punto 3 usando il testo risultante dall'ultima traduzione.
12. Quando tutte le lingue disponibili sono state usate (o quando ti sei stufato), traduci il testo nella sua lingua originale.
13. Posta il risultato ottenuto come commento a questo blog.
14. (opzionale) Fai leggere il testo da un software text-to-speech.
