DIY-Factors of Abnormality and Disturbance
This is a do it yourself version of my
work “Factors of Abnormality and Disturbance” which is a series
based on the idea of recursive errors generating a novel product.
One of the methods used to achieve this
goal is recursive translation. This method involves automatic
translation programs. Any text may be used to initiate a process,
this text must be translated to a different language again and again.
So one might start with the text you're reading now and translate it
in German, then take that translation and translate it to French and
so on. The process may be repeated until all the languages in the
translation software have been used and then the resulting text maybe
translated back to the original language to see how the process has
generated a totally different content.
The procedure:
- Choose a text.
- Choose a translation software.
- Translate the text to an available language.
- Repeat step 3 using the newly translated text
- When all available languages are used (or when you get bored), translate the text to its original language.
- Paste it as a comment to this blog.
- (optional) Have it read by a text-to-speech software.

The mountain and 'sacred if the sage sits at his feet
The mountain and 'sacred, if the rate sits at his feet

Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow creeps in this petty pace from day to day to the last syllable of recorded time and all our yesterdays have lighted fools the way to dusty death.
to French:
S'introduit demain et demain et demain ce pas petit au jour le jour à la dernière syllabe du temps relevé et tous nos hiers ont allumé des imbéciles la manière à la mort poussiéreuse
to Dutch :
S' ingevoerd morgen en morgen en morgen deze kleine stap van dag tot dag aan de laatste lettergreep van de vastgestelde tijd en al hebben onze hiers van de imbecielen de manier aan de stoffige dood aangestoken
and back to English :
S' introduced tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow this small step from day up to day to the last syllable of the determined time and already our hiers of the morons have switched on the manner to dusty dead
Robert frost’s poem:
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood and sorry I could not travel both and be one traveller, long I stood and looked down one as far as I could.
into French:
Deux routes ont divergé dans un bois jaune et désolé que je ne pouvais pas voyager tous les deux et être un voyageur, longtemps j'étais et ai regardé en bas celui autant que je pourrais.
into Spanish :
Dos caminos divergieron en un bosque amarillo y desolado que no podía viajar dos y ser un viajero, mucho tiempo era y miré abajo al tanto como podría.
into German:
Zwei Wege sind in einem gelben und wüsten Wald abgewichen, dass zwei nicht reisen konnte und ein Reisender sein, viel Zeit er war und ich habe unten in gesehen, so viel, wie er könnte.
into Russian:
2 дороги отклонились в желтом и беспорядочном лесу, что 2 не мог путешествовать и быть путешественником, много времени он был и я смотрел внизу в, так много, как он мог бы.
back to French:
2 chemins se sont écartés dans le bois jaune et confus que 2 ne pouvait pas voyager et être le voyageur, il y a beaucoup de temps lui il m'y avait regardait en bas à, il y a ainsi beaucoup de, comme il pourrait.
finally back to English :
2 ways moved away in the confused and yellow wood that 2 couldn't travel and be the passenger, a lot of shone time ago he had me looked there down in, there is so of a lot, as he could.

Several other sites offered to translate from Hebrew but then were entirely unable even to offer a translation.
